about
PATRICIA
With a background in Architecture and a Fine Arts degree awarded in London in 2015, she is responsible for the interior design and curation of the artworks around the house. This website and other graphic design works on social media were also made by her. She cultivates a creative environment in the house by offering Art Residencies and Workshops as well as collaborations with artists and designers.
Parallel to the family business she keeps developing her practice, focusing in textile and botanic arts. Patricia is also interested in sustainability, healthy eating and mindfulness.

FELIPE
A cook and cyclist, sometimes a gardener and a handyman. Felipe never stops.
Before Casa Della Capra he was already running Bike&Food tours, guiding groups through beautiful landscapes and delicious food at its source.
His passion for Italian cuisine dates back to childhood, but it was only after he finished a degree in Economics that he attended ICIF (cookery school) in southern Piedmont. Previous experiences include working on the food and beverage sector, hosting a TV cooking show and as a personal chef.

SUSTAINABILITY: Since our opening we have been learning more about sustainable tourism and making the best available choices for the nature that surrounds us and the planet. Besides, we have received a grant “GAL Laghi e Monti - Turismo Sostenibile” based on our sustainable approach… in 2018 and 2021! Here’s what we've been doing: ENERGY Efficiency: We optimise energy by using heat pump technology, double glazed windows, led lights, presence sensors, and magnetic cards in rooms. We promote sustainable mobility by offering rental bikes and e-bikes, electric vehicle charging. We offer parking, technical support and information for cyclists wanting to explore the area. We offer motor-free alternatives for exploring the lake, such as SUp Paddle and Kayak. We collaborate and generate opportunities for local guides and outdoor activity companies. We promote local producers by organising visits and tastings. FOOD WASTE: We produce food on-demand in the restaurant to avoid food waste and have a hybrid buffet/a la carte system helping reduce waste on breakfast as well. PLASTIC USE: We have eliminated single use plastic from free toiletries and now use dispensers. We also use refills for cleaning products! We refrain from using single plastics such as cutlery, glasses and in our restaurant. We are in the process of reducing other sources of plastic inside the kitchen. Guests can enjoy free water and aromatic water from a dispenser. Reusable bottles can be brought or bought from reception. ECOLOGY: Most of our land is covered by green, including an orchard, aromatic garden and now a vegetable and medicinal garden, helping bees thrive too! We are able to sort and get the waste to recycling centres. We make compost. Bonus: Community SUSTAINABILITY is also promoting local culture and contributes with the distribution of prosperity that comes from the tourism sector: We promote local art and crafts by offering creative workshops with local artists, displaying their work around the house, selling them at the shop! We promote an art festival with all our collaborating artists once a year. We have an Art Residency program called SCAMBIO, that simultaneously promotes our territory abroad and the work of international emerging artists, which is created in response to the landscape. We support local musicians, offering open live music events over summer. We promote local culture by keeping a small library with information on local legends, parks, historic places, archeology, geology, religious places, agriculture, museums and more. (Together with Art, bike and food books, of course) We are always aiming to evolve. We are looking forward to growing our bike fleet, planting our own veg garden and investing in a solar panel in the coming years. Please help us continue investing in sustainability and recommend us to your planet loving friends!
