Programma

SCAMBIO means exchange or trade in Italian. In this program Casa della Capra offers hospitality in exchange for art. In other words, selected participants are invited to stay with us and get the chance to explore and receive support at every step of their creative process, allowing them to make one or more pieces of work that that will remain as a legacy to the house. In the process they also have the opportunity to meet regular guests and local personalities, get exposure on our social media and physically exhibit work to the public.


Day 1: Check in from 3pm.  Exploration of the area. Welcome dinner.

Day 2: 10 am meeting. Exploration of the area. 

Day 3: 10 am Exploration of the area and Material sourcing. 7pm Dinner.

Day 4: 10 am "Studio" setup. Making. Dinner. 7pm Dinner.

Day 5-8: 10 am Meeting. Making. 7pm Dinner.

Vernissage Set up until 5pm. 6pm Artist Talk and Exhibition opening.

Last Day Check-out until 10am.


Residencies can last from 7 to 10 days, depending on project and availability. A alternative dates may be considered to accomodate artist's availability.

Accommodation, Breakfast and dinner are included. Rooms may be shared or private, depending on availability. Extras will be charged separately.

A budget of maximum €100 per project will be available for reimbursement of materials and equipment used in the making of the artwork.

Transportation is not included

For the SCAMBIO Art Residency 2026 Edition we are welcoming:

Visual art: Mural, graphic design (for custom wallpaper project), painting and digital image, wood/linoleum printing.

Textile art: embroidery, tufting, natural fabric dyeing.

Sculpture: Outdoor sculpture. Wood, branches, stone or recycled materials.

Writing/ Storytelling: research and write about the story of the house, town or surrounding area.

Land art and site specific art.

The applicants are required to send a project proposal of a piece of work to be made and installed in situ within 7 to 10 days. The proposal shall be written in maximum 2 A4 sized pages on PDF format containing a presentation letter, technique/medium, images, size and costs of the work.
